Change of name of Artemis Funds (Lux) – Global Emerging Markets

The name of Artemis Funds (Lux) – Global Emerging Markets (the “Fund”) changed to Artemis Funds (Lux) – SmartGARP Global Emerging Markets Equity on 28 May 2021.

In addition, an explanation of the SmartGARP process, as further described below, has been inserted in the “Investment Policy” section of the fund’s appendix in the prospectus.

Why has Artemis made this change?

The fund is managed with Artemis’ in-house “SmartGARP®” software tool, which screens the market to help the managers identify companies with the most attractive financial characteristics. The fund is, of course, actively managed – before investing, the managers undertake further detailed research to ensure that the investment rationale behind a SmartGARP recommendation is valid.

Following a review across the wider fund range, we intend to group together those investment funds that employ the SmartGARP process by including “SmartGARP” in their names. This change will help investors more readily identify those funds which are managed in a similar style with SmartGARP input. This change will also help differentiate those funds from the rest of our fund range and provide ‘future-proofing’ should any new funds be developed by Artemis which will invest in the same asset class but with a different investment approach.

In addition, we believe that adding “Equity” to the fund name helps to clearly describe the asset class in which the fund invests and will ensure consistency across the group of our funds which are managed in a similar style with SmartGARP input.

There are no changes to the way in which the fund is managed as a result of this change.
